1947 Kentucky Derby Pennant
AAANNDDDD THEY’RE OFF! This rare Kentucky Derby pennant from 1947 is a neat piece of history from the infamous horse race in Louisville, Kentucky. Kicking off in 1875, this cool pennant is from the 72nd “Run for the Roses” - a lush blanket of 554 red roses is awarded to the winner each year.
As a University of Kentucky Alum, I have a lot of special memories at the Derby with my Delta Gamma sisters. I love collecting pieces like this that remind me of the derby and the great state of Kentucky. Go Cats!
